Advanced Filter Option

Have you ever tried to filter data based on multiple and complex criteria yet without any success? Thus you are frustrated that the Excel Autofilter Option is not yielding the desired results. Well, the Advanced Filter Option is the solution to your problem.

The Advanced Filter Option can extract data based on user defined criteria across multiple columns of data. Follow our step by step instructions as we explain how that can be achieved.

Applies To: Excel 2003, 2007 and 2010

  1. Based on the screen shot below we explain how data that meets the given criteria can be filtered

2.  Select Data then Advanced under the Sort & Filter group

3.  Select as below

4.  Select OK

5.  The data will be filtered based on complex user defined criteria as displayed by the screen shot below

N.B. Ensure that the data in the criteria set is of the same format as in the data set
